5. How to Maufacture FTS.

¨ç Design of FTS

A driver and driven load are to be determined and then an FTS is designed to connect the shaft of both machine units transmitting sufficient power in required bent angle considering the function of the machine and the layout of both units.


¨è Machining both ends of FTS

Both ends of the FTS, to which a driven shaft and a load shaft are connected, are machined in advanced with ordinary machine tools.


¨é Maching slits of corrugated grooves

The process of machining corrugated grooves shall be as follows:

The waterjet machining center is adopted to machine the corrugated grooves. The first step of this process is to input the designed teeth shape into the computer, and then machine the grooves using CAD/CAM waterjet machining.

The corrugated-shaped grooves are machined in precise and equal pitches by dividing the angle to the circumferential direction of pipe, so that all teeth can contact each other all together at the same time.


¨ê Special waterjet machining center for FTS

The waterjet machining method is a recently developed special machining technology. The waterjet machining center is capable of cutting any materials by ejecting water mixed with abrasive at 300 to 400 kg/cm2 of an extremely high pressure. The device employed for FTS production is not an ordinary  waterjet machining center for plate cutting, but is a special purpose machining center for FTS groove cutting on the pipe walls.


This machining center is equipped with spindle axis, which can fix a pipe material and rotate it freely at any required angle in harmony with the plane motion of waterjet nozzle to make corrugated grooves in precise pitch intervals, As this special equipment developed by MONAS PUMP, has the resolution of 1/400,000 it can realizes a perfect pitch machining process. As MONAS PUMP will open all this machining technology to all licenses of FTS patent, licenses will have no difficulties in manufacturing FTS.
